Article 65 of Labour LAW states that maximum working hours should be 48 hours a week. Normal Hours of working can be reduced in Ramadan or in unhealthy operations. For Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes etc working hours can be increased as per the Law. This Article states clearly about the working hours in UAE.
Its a perfect definition by UAE Labour Law means that nobody can accede the law and force the employees to work for extra hours which are quite beyond the human limits. If a reasonable amount of extra working hours, a worker has to work then he should be paid as well. No worker can be deprived of his wage, salary. If he is, then he has the right to go to MOL to lodge his complaint.
It’s a matter which usually does not come into knowledge. The workers, especially the poor worker, when they are forced to work and also not paid a few times, then they have no other option just to keep silence. These poor workers prefer to stay and work despite this injustice. UAE Labour Law covers such injustices and discrimination, very beautifully. They stop the Employer to impose such cruel rules and provide options to employees to lodge the complaints in MOL. Workers should always avail of this opportunity if they are treated with injustice.
